The Baker County Transient Lodging Tax Committee and the Baker County Tourism Marketing committee are working with the PARC Resources consulting group to conduct a new Tourism Strategic Plan for Baker County.

The Transient Lodging Tax Committee (TLT ) oversees Baker County’s tourism  marketing efforts using the funds collected through local transient lodging taxes.  The TLT oversees the current contact with the Baker County Chamber of Commerce  for the Visitor Information Center, the tourism marketing contract, and the TLT event grant program.    The Baker County Tourism Marketing Committee works directly with the Tourism Marketing Director, Timothy Bishop, to develop the County’s  tourism marketing plan www.travelbakercounty.com, and to help implement the plan once it’s approved by the TLT.

As part of the planning effort the TLT hosted a small number of tourism stakeholder focus groups in March, is in the process of conducting an online survey of local lodging partners,  Baker County lodging partners can take the survey HERE, and has scheduled a series of public meetings in the first week of May to help solicit input and direction for the new plan.

Upcoming public meetings are scheduled throughout Baker County on May 7 and 8, followed by a steering committee meeting and a focus group with local lodging partners on May 9th
