Day of Dance
September 21, 2024, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM PDT
Crossroads Carnegie Art Center is thrilled to bring back Day of Dance, September 21, at Geiser Pollman Park.
In 2022, Crossroads hosted their first Day of Dance event in conjunction with National Dance Day, with huge crowds enjoying this free event in the park. Crossroads welcomed a diverse set of local and regional dance groups to perform, including performers representing China, Laos, and Indonesia and many more. Bring your chair and join the fun. Food and beverages will be available from vendors.
National Dance Day, https://nationaltoday.com/national-dance-day/, was launched in 2010 by Nigel Lythgoe, the co-creator of So You Think You Can Dance and co-founder of American Dance Movement (formerly the Dizzy Feet Foundation) in partnership with American congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton who introduced a National Dance Day resolution to express support for dance as a form of valuable exercise and of artistic expression. National Dance Day is celebrated in the United States annually on the third Saturday in September; this year’s celebration is September 21, 2024.
Guest Performers: Irish Dance Idaho, Danza Azteca Tonatiuh, Bosnian Dance, Boise Traditional Chinese Dance Group, Wakandeez (African Hip-Hop), Flow Arts – Fire Dance, Indo Idaho (Indonesian Dance)
