On the imaginary shores and islands of medieval England, the Sea seeks revenge on a young and arrogant Prince after he is unkind to an old woman. As his punishment, the Prince is bewitched by the Sea into the form of a Beast. The creature is forced to live on an enchanted island until he can be loved – not for his outward appearance but for who he is on the inside. When a man picks a rose from the Beast’s garden, he is threatened with death; although he is spared when his daughter Beauty takes his place and vows to live with the Beast forever. To break the spell he has had cast upon him, the Beast must prove to Beauty that he is more than a hideous face — that he has changed into a kind and gentle hearted man. Beauty must find the courage to see deep into the heart of the beast in order to break the enchantment. She does so through the power of love.
