Durkee Steak Feed
August 19, 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM PDT
Eastern Oregon is cattle country and there’s no better way to celebrate the region’s ranching heritage than at the annual Durkee Steak Feed. The Durkee Steak Feed has been happening for over half a century. This annual celebration actually takes place in Baker City at the Quail Ridge Golf Course, where hundreds of hungry fans turn out to celebrate Baker County’s ranching heritage and enjoy a great steak dinner in the shadow of the Elkhorn Mountains, overlooking Baker City. While the steak gets top billing, locals and those in the know, will tell you the fresh “cowboy fried” bread almost steals the show every year. Choose the steak dinner and dine on beef ribeye steak, corn on the cob, baked potato, pan fried bread, veggies and dessert, or go for a hot dog and the side dishes. Cars from the Baker CIty Memory Cruise are on display during the steak feed, adding color in the grassy golf course setting.
Ticket prices are $30 for the steak dinner, or $10 for the hot dog dinner. Beginning the second week of August, advance tickets will be sold at the Baker County Chamber of Commerce office, 490 Campbell Street, or at Quail Ridge Golf Course, 2801 Indiana Avenue. You will also be able to purchase tickets at Geiser Pollman Park during the car show or at the event – cash or check only. Online tickets will be available on the website soon, as well.
