National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center staff are packing up their wagons and heading west to Baker City, just like pioneers would have done from Missouri in the spring of 1843.

Are we there yet?

The Center’s annual Memorial Day weekend wagon encampment will be in a new location this year at  Baker City’s Geiser Pollman Park from noon-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 29-30.  Admission is free.

For true history enthusiasts who want to explore more local history, Geiser Pollman Park is located in historic downtown Baker City across the street from the Baker Heritage Museum.

The annual wagon encampment is fun for the entire family with living history performers, interactive pioneer demonstrations and live musical performances by wandering minstrel Hank Cramer throughout both days including a special evening performance  from 5-6 p.m. on Saturday May 29.  If you haven’t heard Hank Cramer perform, click here to enjoy a video from his performance at last year’s wagon encampment.
