Sumpter Valley Railroad Fall Foliage Train

Ride the narrow-gauge steam-powered train through the beautiful autumn foliage of the Sumpter Valley, with the Elkhorn Ridge of the Blue Mountains as a backdrop. The train departs from McEwen Station and travels to Sumpter, then returns to McEwen. Keep your eyes open for those special photos – if you don’t catch the shot one direction you have an opportunity on the return trip. Times below are tentative – please check your tickets.

The Sumpter Valley Railroad McEwen Depot is located 23 miles southwest of Baker City on Oregon Highway 7. Plan on about 40 minutes to reach McEwen from Baker City.

Oct 20 – Fri – regular trips from McEwen – 2 trips; departing 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Also available is the all day photo train rides, Saturday and Sunday from McEwen – starts at 7 a.m.
