Halloween Express Train

It’s Halloween Express time on the Historic Sumpter Valley Railroad, Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28. On both days a round trip train will depart from the McEwen Depot at 4:00 p.m. Passengers will be greeted with lots of decorations and a haunted train with treat bags for everyone. After arriving in Sumpter be sure to check out the Haunted Gold Dredge and listen to ghost stories of the past. Rumor has it that Joe Bush, the dredge worker from long ago will likely be making an appearance, so come join the fun. There may even be a few more surprises that you’ll have to wait for. So be sure to wear a costume for a spooky trip back in time.
The coach windows and doors will be open, so dress warmly!
Sumpter Valley Railroad, McEwen Depot
The McEwen Depot is located 23 miles southwest of Baker City on Oregon Highway 7. Plan on about 40 minutes to reach McEwen from Baker City.
